Dining on Delicious Adjectives

The fifth graders have been studying word choice during the month of October. This lesson involved dining out in the classroom. Students arrived to class and were greeted by their server and seated at tables covered in white linens and flower vases. Each “customer” was given a menu, donated by a restaurant chain, and were told to scan the menu in search of sizzling adjectives. Once the adjectives were found, the students rewrote the school lunch menu. Students were sure to “savor the flavor” of these delicious adjectives!
