OHS Fine Arts Night

Thursday, February 11

Thursday, February 11, at 7 p.m., the OHS music, art, and drama departments will hold a Fine Arts Night in the high school commons area.

The choral section of our fine arts performance will, in keeping with the theme most prevalent in mid February, center around five songs about love and relationships. They will range in style from contemporary tunes such as "Stand By Me" and Journey’s "Open Arms" to the classic Gershwin tune "Someone to Watch Over Me" which features two of our students as soloists.

The art students at Oswego will be displaying various artworks that they have done during class. These artworks include paintings, drawings, cut paper mosaics, photographs, and ceramic pieces. During the exhibition of these artworks at Fine Arts Night, we will ask for the audience to vote for their favorite artwork in each category and a best of show.

The English Productions Class will present a one-act play “Chipped” by Forrest Musselman. “Chipped” is a fast-paced comedy about a variety show that performs live over the Internet, enlightening its viewers on the subjects of love, relationships and the family unit. Complete with a nasty virus and pop up commercials, the play satirizes the way society treats computers and questions whether we control the computers, or if the computers control us.

Join us for a night of entertainment.
